Please Define Disproportionate in the Face of International Terrorism

As the United States of America and the rest of the world watches on our television sets the war between Hezbollah and Israel we keep hearing the claim that Israel's response to Hezbollah is disproportionate to their response. This is interesting and I am not sure who said it first but it simply is not so.

Apparently, someone is complaining about the escalation of the war when Hezbollah has been building up its military strength and has brought in 13,000 rockets and missiles into Lebanon through Syria, which originated in Iran. Many of the missiles and rockets, which originated in Iran have Chinese technologies and were bought from the Chinese.

If someone were and let's say Cuba and they brought in missiles to attack the United States of America then surely the United States of America would wish to do something about that. And if the group their came ashore in Florida attacking our first line of defense in the US Coast Guard and captured two of our US Coast Guard personnel then surely the United States of America would take this seriously, as would any nation.

This idea and claim that Israel had a disproportionate reciprocal response in the face of international terrorism, which has been building up for nearly a decade makes no sense there is nothing disproportionate about protecting yourself, your people or defending your nation. You must do whatever is necessary to ensure that you protect your people. The famous of war author Carl von Clausewitz would certainly not disagree with Israel's stance. There is nothing disproportionate about protecting your people, Period! Consider this in 2006.
